PENGUATAN PERAN ADVOKASI DAN INFORMASI PENDIDIKAN ANAK BAGI KOMITE PENDIDIKAN MASYARAKAT KELURAHAN KEBON JAYANTI KECAMATAN KIARACONDONG KOTA BANDUNG

Abstract The emergence of various social problems of children, such as street children, child trafficking, until the child exploitation and sexual economy, mostly due to non-fulfillment of basic rights and needs of children, one of them is the right to education. This research aims to develop a model of prevention and intervention of school drop-outs in the Kelurahan Kebon Jayanti. The research method used a qualitative research method with participatory action research. The results showed that the application of the early models still need to be developed, particularly in strengthening the internal base (knowledge and skills) and external basis (strengthen relations and external support). Identification results in the need for strengthening the role of advocacy and information KPM for child education, demonstrates the need for improved understanding of the role of caretaker and child education advocacy advocacy action. An reflection of the implementation of the activities showed an increase in the understanding of the role of advocacy KPM board and be able to realize the role well, as did the lobby to the foundation IABRI, socialization activities and campaigns, cooperation with mass media and parliament hearing with the city of Bandung. Keywords: strengthening the role, advocacy and information, community education committee Abstrak Munculnya berbagai permasalahan sosial anak, seperti anak jalanan, perdagangan (trafficking) anak, hingga eksploitasi anak secara ekonomi dan seksual, banyak disebabkan karena tidak terpenuhinya hak dan kebutuhan dasar anak, salah satunya hak untuk memperoleh pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pencegahan dan penanganan anak putus sekolah di Kelurahan Kebon Jayanti. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan partisipatif (participatory action research).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model awal masih perlu dikembangkan, terutama dalam memperkuat basis internal (pengetahuan dan keterampilan) serta basis eksternal (memperkuat hubungan dan dukungan pihak luar). Hasil identifikasi kebutuhan penguatan peran KPM menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan pemahaman pengurus tentang peran advokasi dan informasi pendidikan anak serta melakukan aksi advokasi dan informasi tersebut. Refleksi terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman pengurus KPM terhadap peran advokasi dan mampu merealisasikan peran tersebut dengan baik, seperti melakukan lobby ke yayasan IABRI, sosialisasi kegiatan dan kampanye, kerjasama dengan media massa serta hearing dengan DPRD Kota Bandung. Kata kunci: penguatan peran, advokasi dan informasi, komite pendidikan masyarakat ÂDownloads
