Social Skills Training for People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) Who Are in the Final Stage of Recovery

Social skills are the abilities needed to interact in a multicultural and competitive society. These include communicating, cooperating, sharing, participating, and adapting. Social Skills Training (SST) helps individuals master these skills through joint activities and behavior formation principles. SST is also used as an intervention to enhance clients’ problem-solving abilities, especially in conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, behavioral disorders, social phobia, and anxiety. For people with mental disorders who are in recovery, social skills training is important for building interaction, communication, cooperation, and creativity skills. The results of this training can provide feelings of happiness and pride, such as through artistic works or other skills.

Development Model of Community-Based Intervention Network (IBM) in Combating Drug Abuse at the Village Level in Cianjur Regency

Cipendawa Village, located on a tourist route, faces serious challenges related to the circulation and abuse of NAPZA (Narcotics, Psychotropics, and Addictive Substances). Data shows that there are victims of NAPZA abuse among teenagers in this village. One of the main issues is the lack of parental understanding about NAPZA abuse, including its types, distribution methods, and treatment options. Many parents are unaware that their children are using NAPZA, often attributing it to mystical causes, hiding the reality, and not knowing what to do, leaving the victims of NAPZA abuse (KPN) without proper treatment. Recovery Agents (AP) in Cipendawa Village have conducted various interventions to help KPN, such as barista training and catfish farming. However, these interventions are not sustainable, raising concerns that KPN might relapse into using NAPZA. The APs also face difficulties in finding effective solutions to these problems. Despite this, the AP and IMB of Cipendawa Village have become models for other villages, demonstrating good potential and capabilities that can be enhanced to become more competent in their roles as Recovery Agents

Enhancement of Childcare Services for Underprivileged Families by the Social Welfare Center

This article aims to describe the process of improving childcare services for low-income families carried out by the Social Welfare Center (Puskesos) in Sekarwangi Village, Soreang Subdistrict, Bandung Regency. The activity represents community service efforts collaboratively designed with 11 community representatives who serve as Puskesos administrators. The focus is on addressing social issues related to children in impoverished families. The methodology employed during the implementation process includes participatory assessment, participatory planning, intervention, mentoring, and participatory monitoring and evaluation. As a result of these activities, there has been an enhancement of knowledge and skills among Puskesos personnel, enabling them to provide better services to low-income families. Specifically, the outcomes include: Consultation on Child Education Issues, Strengthening of Effective Parenting Practices, Prevention of Violence and Child Neglect, Child Protection Measures, and Social Assistance for Children

Optimizing Village Institutions Through Capacity Management in Cijati Village, Situraja District, Sumedang, West Java

Focusing on social institutions in Cijati Village presents a valuable opportunity to address community welfare issues that manifest across various service processes. In this evolving context, social institutions in Cijati Village have emerged in diverse forms, including the Village Government Apparatus, Puskesos, LPM, Karang Taruna, PKK, Posyandu, and Gapoktan. These organizations aim to be integral to the Cijati Village community, addressing social, economic, health, and welfare challenges. Recognizing these issues, Cijati Village was identified as a potential area for community service initiatives. Community service, a key element of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encourages the academic community to provide direct benefits to the community by applying their knowledge. In conducting this community service from March to August 2023, we adopted a strategy utilizing various methods, models, techniques, and tools applicable at different stages of community social work assistance. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of applying sound knowledge to optimize synergy between administrators, management, and planning, and to utilize resources from each community institution involved in the community service process in Cijati Village.

The capacity building model is a model that generally aims to help improve the competence of members and administrators of the "Mentari" Women's Group in managing the tasks and functions of the group that are carried out, where later with the competence possessed it will build the sustainability of the women's group organization that operates in the informal sector "Mentari". Specifically, this model has several further objectives, namely, 1). Improving the competence of members and administrators in exploring the needs and problems of the organization 2). Improving the competence of members and administrators in exploring the system of available sources and potentials, 3). Improving the competence of members and administrators in preparing intervention plans, 4). Improving the competence of members and administrators in developing networks, 5). Improving the competence of members and administrators in managing groups, 6). Improving the competence of administrators and members in evaluating processes and results related to Group activities.
