Enhancement of Childcare Services for Underprivileged Families by the Social Welfare Center

This article aims to describe the process of improving childcare services for low-income families carried out by the Social Welfare Center (Puskesos) in Sekarwangi Village, Soreang Subdistrict, Bandung Regency. The activity represents community service efforts collaboratively designed with 11 community representatives who serve as Puskesos administrators. The focus is on addressing social issues related to children in impoverished families. The methodology employed during the implementation process includes participatory assessment, participatory planning, intervention, mentoring, and participatory monitoring and evaluation. As a result of these activities, there has been an enhancement of knowledge and skills among Puskesos personnel, enabling them to provide better services to low-income families. Specifically, the outcomes include: Consultation on Child Education Issues, Strengthening of Effective Parenting Practices, Prevention of Violence and Child Neglect, Child Protection Measures, and Social Assistance for ChildrenDownloads
